Optimized for Cloud, hyperconverged systems, SSDs or all flash storage. We are looking into sending a Vendor Security Assessment Questionnaire to all of our partners and providers, it's never been done by us previously. Jensen authored Diskeeper, which became the best-selling defragmentation.

Heads up for those who are struggling to find Ubiquiti gear in stock.I just found Wifi6 Lites in stock for $99 at store.ui.com. Ubiquiti stuff - ACTUALLY IN STOCK right now! Networking. It doesn't sound like something that your "typical user" would need to worry about, either. I have some guesses at what they're probably doing under the hood, but it would just be guessing. I'm not going to comment on the IntelliWrite thing. Or, just run it manually every now and then as the feeling hits you. There's nothing wrong with going into the Optimize menu and scheduling it more frequently, especially if your drive is pretty full. I say that advisedly, because this optimize operation is in background, and the user isn't likely to notice it happening. Heavy BitTorrent users, for example, would likely see Optimize run more often. It will run more frequently if your drive is close to full, and if you do a lot more writing than average. Microsoft has told me that for the vast majority of users, optimize will only run once a month or so. Microsoft puts Optimize on a particular schedule, and that schedule is quite dependent on how aggressively the drive is used.

Windows Optimization runs Trim for SSDs, and this is a good thing. IMHO, people should get off Window 7 as soon as humanly possible.

The good news is that Windows 10 won't allow you to defrag your SSD, at all, so it becomes a moot point. Yeah, if you're on Windows 7, go in and make sure that defrag is not scheduled. There are simply many more available write cycles than most people will ever use. However, for almost all desktop users the added wear of running a defrag occasionally isn't going to be the difference between the drive dying and not. It will make no difference in performance, and as everyone knows, it adds write cycles which are unneeded. You certainly don't NEED to defrag your drive. In my opinion, this whole defragging thing has been totally overblown.
